 Transportation Plan Update

 Survey

Dear Residents:

The Oneida and Franklin County Transportation Plan Update is intended to evaluate, maintain, and improve transportation facilities throughout both counties. The overall goal is to identify current and projected transportation needs and establish strategies for addressing roadway conditions, future growth, and system maintenance over the next 10 years.
Oneida County completed its previous countywide Transportation Plan in 2007, which included the City of Malad, while Franklin County completed its plan in 2005. The Counties received transportation planning assistance through the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC) and contracted with PARAGON Consulting, Inc., to complete the plan update. This effort builds on previous planning efforts by assessing existing transportation conditions, identifying future improvements, and establishing priorities and potential funding strategies to support a safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation system in both counties.
The updated Transportation Plan will provide the Counties with a current guide for managing transportation assets, planning for future roadway maintenance and improvement needs, and identifying potential strategies to address funding shortfalls. Public input is an important part of this process, helping ensure the plan reflects residents’ perspectives on existing road conditions, transportation services, and future system needs. The Counties appreciate the public’s interest and participation in planning for continued transportation improvements.
